Resources Now On-line

First, on behalf of the CHB Conference Planning Team, it was a pleasure to host the 2011 CHB Conference and to welcome you to theAnnapolisValley.  I hope you enjoyed your visit and had an opportunity to experience the local farm markets and this beautiful part of the province.

It has taken a little longer than we anticipated, but we are finally down to the last few details to close out the 2011 CHB Conference.  We have downloaded several documents to the conference website.  All of the information will eventually be  transferred to the CHB provincial website (www.communityhealthboards.ca), but you can still access the conference website by clicking on the conference logo on the provincial site.

The following documents are now available:

-          On the Photos Tab – Photos from the Conference (thank-you to Wendy Walters, AVH Public Relations)

-          On the Resources Tab

  • Executive Summary of the Evaluations – delegates gave the conference an overall rating of 4.2 out of 5.0!  Great feedback – this will be helpful for future conference planning
  • Recommendations – based on the Planning Team’s own experience in planning and attending the 2011 conference, and from comments on the evaluation forms
  • Presentations, links and other documents from the conference
  • A Conference Planning Toolkit – to assist future planning teams

Thank you again to the Department of Health and Wellness and Provincial DHA’s for their ongoing financial support, and to Annapolis Valley Health, the Old Orchard Inn & Spa, and all the conference delegates for the support you gave us in 2011.  We look forward to 2013!

Just One More Sleep

Good afternoon delegates.  It’s hard to believe we are only one sleep away from Conference Day!  Taking comments from the last conference, months of preparation have gone into making this event tailor-made just for you.

We hope you will take this opportunity to engage in the activities and talks geared to help you in your work to “inspire, share, and achieve”

We look forward to meeting you all face-to-face as we learn more about “planting roots for healthier communities”.

Safe travels, and we’ll see you soon.

Almost There!

Wow!  I can’t believe we’re only 15 days away from the start of our CHB Conference 2011.  It seems like only yesterday we were just starting to plan.

I know fall can be a very hectic time for many of us, with so many new beginnings and getting back into our usual routines.  As we move into the final stages of our conference planning, though, I would ask that you all double-check to make sure you have your room reservation numbers.  Remember that you will need to present a personal credit card at check-in, in case of any incidental expenses incurred during your stay at the hotel.  As well, if you are unsure of the location of your hotel, please ask that they send you a map, or go online to Google Maps for directions.

If you need to make any changes, or have any problems, in the next two weeks, please call me directly at (902) 542-2359 so that I can expedite matters for you.

I am very much looking forward to meeting all of you at the conference, and I wish you safe travels.

Cheers,

Shelly Taylor, Administrative Assistant

Hotel Room Bookings

Good morning Conference Delegates.  It’s a lovely fall day, and we are only 5 weeks and 3 days away from “conference time”.  Having said that, there are still a number of people who have not yet registered for accommodations.  If you haven’t already booked your room, please note the block of rooms set aside at the Old Orchard Inn is fully booked.

Our back-up accommodation site is the Slumber Inn located in New Minas.  The long distance number is 1-800-914-5005.  The following website gives directions to the Inn:  http://www.slumberinn.ca/contact.html.  Please tell the reservation clerk that you are with the CHB Conference in order to get the preferred room rate.

If you have any problems reserving your rooms, please call me immediately at 542-2359 or e-mail me at foundation-ekm@avdha.nshealth.ca

Have a wonderful day!
